Bobby Brown performed with New Edition at Mohegan Sun Arena after Whitney Houston's funeral ceremony on Feb. 18 in Uncasville, Conn.
After briefly appearing at ex-wife Whitney Houston’s funeral service in New Jersey on Saturday, Bobby Brown flew to Connecticut to put on a performance with New Edition.
The concert, which took place at the Mohegan Sun casino’s arena, lasted over an hour, and the grieving singer paid homage to Whitney, his former spouse and mother of his 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina.
“I want to give blessings to my ex-wife Whitney Houston. I love you,” Bobby told the concert crowd on Saturday night, while pointing upward toward the sky. “I want to give blessings to my kids, my brothers and all of you. Thank you for the love.”
One of Bobby’s bandmates offered support, telling the audience, “He was upset today.”

Following the performance, which included Bobby’s classic hit, “My Prerogative,” the singer – along with a group of family and friends, headed to Bobby Flay’s restaurant Bar Americain, according to People.
Bobby appeared “relaxed and low key as he posed for photos with fans,” the mag reports.
After a brief 20-minute stint at the casino’s blackjack tables, Bobby reportedly headed to a seafood restaurant with entourage and fiancée Alicia Ethridge, before heading back to their rooms around 2 a.m., according to People.

“My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions.
“I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina,” the statement released to Access continued. “In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

"Untimely Demise" brought to you by "What can Brown do for you?"
...the science behind the art...
Being involved with Bobby Brown is what helped lead to Whitney's early demise. She absolutely had her demons and darkness to deal with, but, having Bobby Brown in her life only deepened the problems she already had. New Hope Baptist Church only holds 1,500 people or so. Bobby Brown needed to be at the service to support Bobbi Kristina only, not his various other children. There was no room to seat all the people he brought to the service, who most likely had no real relationship with Whitney anyway. By leaving the service and not being there for Bobbi Kristina, he showed himself to be who I already knew he was.
He's not even worth speaking about he's a piece of crap. He just wants the attention. Whitney RIP Angel.
Bobby Brown has Bi-Polar disorder...I was in a relationship for 30 years with a bi-polar man and it takes a devastating toll...on every aspect of your life. Whitney wasn't a victim...but she most certainly victimized by this most devastating mental
illness...Bobby Brown has Whitney's blood on his hands...RIP Angel xo
Nobody held a gun to Whitney's head and made her do drugs.
Tyler Perry said that Whitney often talked about her faith in God to get her through the low points. God didn't lead her to drugs, but did lead her to rehab three times. I'm sorry that Whitney didn't lean on God a little harder to get clean 20 plus years ago.
I understand Bobbi Kristina has been doing drugs since her early teens, thanks to Whiteny and Bobby Brown. If this is true that Bobbi Kristina did drugs during the good times.....I give her 5 years tops before she suffers the same fate as her mother now that times are truely bad.
I loved Nippy just as much as anyone else but let me say this, Nippy was a grown woman no matter how famous. As a recovering addict no one EVER forced me to drink or do drugs and no one is to blame for any of my troubles. So I implore you all to stop blaming Bobby Brown for a grown woman deciding to continuously live dangerously, it is a disease that so many fall prey too.
It isn't that I blame Bobby Brown exactly, its that I feel that WH was a girl that was well protected as a child, even going to a Catholic school, where it was girls only and so she didn't have all that much exposure to boys ... then she got busy with her career ... so that when Bobby was more or less the first guy in her life [she said he asked HER out and she liked a guy who had to guts to approach her] and she fell hard for him, not really having a dating history, so she didn't really see that he was not the best choice. Not his fault either. But we just wish somebody else had come along who would have been a better influence. Yeah sure, she is responsible for falling into the drug culture, and Bobby Brown was the one who offered that to her, and when you think that you love your guy, then you hold onto him hard. We're just sad that it was BB that appeared in her life and that she didn't instead fall in love with a nicer guy. The story might have had a happier ending.
We are held accountable for the choices we make in life. Adults especially, no one leads us down the path of addictions but our selves. Many are in denial about their love ones cause for their addictions. They blame others especially their co-dependents. Some how to deflect the spot light of blame off of themselves. It's easier to point fingers of blame on others. Addiction to alcohol and drugs is a deadly disease. I personal know of many not so famous, who have become victims of it. So quit blaming if you don't understand it.
We dont need the GOP. These women on this post are worse than Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Michelle Bachman all put together. You want to Blame Bobby Brown, and any other man for that matter for every ILL in your life. Must help to feed your pyschotic neorosis. One thing is for sure. No need to hear how spiritual any of Whitneys family is. If anything, God was absent from this entier process. When you die and stand before the throne, Jesus is not going t ask you what any man did. He is going to ask you what You Did. and if your response is to point the finger at someone else. Then "depart from me" is the next sentence. I love Whitneys music as much as anyone. Her music is part of the soundtrack of my life. But she was getting high, wAAAAY before she ever laid eyes on Bobby. All he wanted was a blunt and a 40. She was the one who tuned him onto Cocaine! Yes, this is a fact. So get over yourselves. Bobby's only fault was that he wasnt strong enough to stop her. but then again, even if he had tried she probably would have filed charges of spousal abuse. That is what drug addicts do. Finally, those who complain of a lack of a relationship with his daughter, The very people who complain are those who have undermined his ability to be any kind of father. and we ownder why this battler of the sexes has ripped black men and woemn apart. Satan has his hand in this, and if all you get out of Whitney dying is to blam another. Then e will have learned absolutely nothng from this tragedy.
why in the world anyone would pay to see this jerk is beyond me , it's time to put all this whitney/ bobby brown garbage to rest, ignore him, and he will just go away !!!
You could tell she was lying in every interview she ever gave. She was in total denial until the end. The smear campaign on Bobby was just a ploy to make herself look better just like all the lies she told in interviews. Bobby is obviously on the right track and has been for some time. It's sad how everyone is siding with the one who chose to carry on with the dope and booze and blaming her death on the one that got his life together. Good job Bobby don't let them bring you down.
I wanted to send condolenses to the Houston Family & also Bobby Brown and his family. It is amazing how when someone dies like this that we all want to blame someone. Bobby and Whitney both partied it up. No one broke their arms to do it. Now Bobby has straightened out and moved on with his life, and unfortunately Whitney never could fully pull herself together. What a talent lost way too soon. Bobby stay the track and continue to take the path to higher ground. Your daughter needs you now more than ever. God bless you all.
Whitney chose Bobby Brown knowing exactly what he was. It was HER choice. Angel? Puleez. Their daughter needs her father now, and he should be treated respectfully just for that reason alone. Just from learning how Bobby was treated at the church, it made me realize that the whole Houston family probably made Whitney's marriage a hell by acting like that for years toward her husband and baby's father. She was not a saint, she was a GD drug addict and a Diva. Give me a break. No, give her daughter a break!
does anyone really care what Brown does or doesn't do?
well, as a human being and a father...yes.
Can't really think of anyone who cares.
For either one, as far as I'm concerned.
All these accolades just about make me puke. This woman had a talent for singing, but a greater talent for doping. She was a drug freak of the 1st order and that's the way she will be remembered. The songs???...yes....but she will always be associated as a prolific druggie.
Bobby who? It seems everyone wants to make this about drugs or some other issue in which I find even more repulsive. If we are talking about the relationship between Bobby and Whitney it was mentally and physically abusive. He didn't take his vows seriously with her...cheating on her, spending her money on other women and bringing other women into the family home. He definitely didn't treat our National Treasure with the respect she deserved while married to her.
Are we so blind to see the behavior of Bobby Brown in how he mistreated Whitney during their marriage at this point deserves every bit of criticism he is receiving. I find his behavior deplorable during that marriage and for people to leap to his defense is astonishing to me. This tragic story between the two of them has nothing to do with drugs, but every avenue to the direct mistreatment of this woman. A woman clearly after all she had been through still cared about Bobby and would have taken him back if it were not for the people who cared enough to rescue her out of that tragic marriage of abuse. Maybe we need to educate ourselves on the affects of abuse because this is a classic case.
As an African American woman I am looking around at my community and listening to the AA community trying to throw Bobby Brown and his need to be of showing at the service down my throat. To spit on someone is the lowest form of disrespect and to degrade Whitney or any woman in that matter is unconscionable, but we have some who approve of the behavior of Bobby Brown. Do we now accept mental and physical abuse as the standard bearer and do we now accept his behavior to how we want out AA daughters to be treated? I will never accept this for my daughter and it is my hope we will openly reject this and call his behavior towards her what it really was; ABUSE!!!!
He shows up at the service with all these univited people at the service and demands for them to be seated, he didn't demand he himself be seated by his daughter or demand to see his daughter at the service. Albeit, he brings his family, well this is not about his family and seating was already limited. However, the family initially made provisions for {him} to attend and he still makes a spectacle out of the situation. Upon his exit it was clear he made that showing all about him as he did in that shamble of a marriage. In addition, he already had plans to sing at a concert that evening, so when was this really about Whitney or Bobbi Kristina?
Lastly, we come to the support of Bobbi Kristina...she is 18 years old and she witnessed this abuse during that marriage, she lived with this abuse and {she} as a young lady assumed the role of comforter to her mother during the grief and heartache during that marriage. Has anyone ever asked what Bobbi Kristina really wanted?
you are delusional. if anyone was abused in that relationship it was Bobby, but it was more likely a team effort. you know as well as anyone when people get drunk and doped up they fight. The most obvious fact is once Bobby got away from her he fully recovered from drugs. That says a lot about who was holding them back right there. his family was her family for 20 years, and they were invited. It was Whitneys family, security and that silly excuse for a church that caused the scene.
I see some here don't know what the "F" they are talking about...as usual! Bobby came to pay his respects to his ex-wife. He as well as his other children (Bobbi Kristina's siblings) were INVITED. Can some of you read? And if any of you idiots talking out of turn watched "Being Bobby Brown", Whitney LOVED her step kids. They loved her too. Footage shows Bobby Jr was sobbing and very hurt outside that Church. BB should have been accommodated as well as his Children. It was not the place nor the time for him to be treated that way if he was Invited. He couldn't have gotten as far as the front pew without an invite...so evidently he had one! And for the Media to continue to call BB, his Brother and his 2 Sons and his Daughter a "9 person Entourage" is simply ridiculous and bad reporting...Again as USUAL.
We all loved Whitney and her voice. We are thankful for the Music she left us with. But we have to STOP blaming Bobby for her drug use. Stop playing the blame game. Shes gone now...Good Bless you Whitney!!
He was so distraught over his crack addict wife funeral that he went on stage to perform. It would have been a great performance if he brought a punching bag with a cut out of Whitney and showed everyone "this is how I beat her" That could have been his best performance because he was good at it.
Everyday in this country crack addict whores die in the streets, if Whitney could not sing she might have become a hooker giving BJ's for $25 in an alley. I am so tired about everyone saying how great she was, but they did not know her personally, they knew what her PR people were putting out. Hitler could have had a great PR person showing him kissing Arian babies, therefore he was a good guy.
@ Ron...Grow up! You really need some help. Stop Hating!
Charger fan
maybe if you rooted for the Giants you would not be so angry. You need help to understand the real world versus the make believe world you live in. If you are so shallow, you might look to purchase a bridge in Brooklyn.
People actually GO to a concert by him? Really?
(John 8:5-7) In the Law Moses prescribed for us to stone such sort of women. What, really, do you say?” Of course, they were saying this to put him to the test, in order to have something with which to accuse him. But Jesus bent down and began to write with his finger in the ground. When they persisted in asking him, he straightened up and said to them:“Let the one of YOU that is sinless be the first to throw a stone at her.”
This guy is a jerk of the worse kind. He's the kind of guy who will talk nice but really would like slap folks
